Sheth Sangreal Foundation’s Matching Gift Commitment Helps Award $3.5 Million to 111 Austin-area Nonprofits from All Together ATX Fund for COVID-19 Response

Austin Community Foundation and United Way for Greater Austin announced the third and final round of grant funding from All Together ATX in the amount of $3.5 million to 111 nonprofits in the Austin area. The $3.5 million, to be distributed by December 24, includes a matching gift from the Sheth Sangreal Foundation. Every donation made between October 1 and November 16 of this year was matched dollar for dollar by the Sheth Sangreal Foundation.

All Together ATX, a community-led philanthropic fund, provides funding for basic needs and support for nonprofit organizations working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and the economic consequences of the outbreak. Since March, when the fund was created, All Together ATX has raised and awarded approximately $7.7 million to Austin area nonprofits. This third and final round of funding will go towards food insecurity, direct cash assistance, social supports, COVID-19 modifications and personal protective equipment.

David C. Smith, CEO of United Way for Greater Austin noted that, “with so many generous donors like the Sheth Sangreal Foundation and hundreds of other corporate, foundation, and individual gifts, Austin showed that we take care of each other. We’re honored to partner with the Austin Community Foundation to provide much-needed relief to our local nonprofits and community. Thank you to every person and company that donated to All Together ATX to support our community through COVID-19. The road to recovery is ongoing, and United Way for Greater Austin will continue to be here to build opportunity for all individuals, children, and families.”

Communities of color in Central Texas have been affected the most by the economic and health consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. For that reason, All Together ATX focused on equity during the grantmaking process and 81 organizations out of the 111 nonprofits receiving grants, are led by Black, Indegenious, or people of color (BIPOC) and more than 50 percent of staff at these organizations are BIPOC.
